Macro Monday 2 - Whoops

http://macromonday2.blogspot.co.uk/

"Whoops"

I am reliably informed that last Monday was a simple misunderstanding.  Something missing in translation.  In my defence all those bleeps and whirs sound the same to me.

So in the interests of intergalactic peace, doughnuts for everyone!

The Gallery - Boy

Sticky Fingers Photo Gallery

"Boy"

The husband has the unenviable task of being the only male in the house, if you don't count two of the cats that is.

Luckily for him his world is not a sea of fuchsia pink princesses and sparkling crowns.  Instead he survives in a world of zombies, skeletons, Minecraft and stunt scooters.

Song-ography - This Ship's Going Down, Voltaire

http://youllshootyoureyeout-kathy.blogspot.co.uk/

'Cause the ship's going down, all on account of the weather.  Though we'll drown there's no need to frown, 'cause we're all going together.

And I won't say, 'woe is me,' as I disappear into the sea, as I'm in good company, and we're all going together.

Macro Monday 2 - Solar Eclipse?

We have all been fooled!  What we experienced was not a partial eclipse of the sun but the mothership moving into position for the planned invasion.

I have been informed resistance is futile and that you will all be assimilated.

For the love of God, whatever you do, DO NOT look at the sun.  I would avoid the Daily Mail too.

Thematic Photograph - Hit The Road

"Hit The Road"

Hit the road less travelled.  You never know what you may find.

In this case a rather startled small group of Black-headed Gulls.

I am the mother of a teenager.  How did that happen?  I know how it *happened*, but how did it happen?

I have always loved black and white photography, even before I took up the hobby and the camera myself.  I feel it eliminates the distraction of colour, leaving with more of the moment and emotion.

Above, while not technically great, one of my favourite pictures taken of my youngest daughter, Jess.

Song-ography - Shake It Off, Taylor Swift

http://youllshootyoureyeout-kathy.blogspot.co.uk/

"Shake It Off, Taylor Swift"

"And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, baby.  I'm just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake I shake it off."

I'm what might be what is considered odd.  I know, hard to believe, but work with me here. I do not always conform to society's norm and I like the things I'm 'not supposed to.'

This led to a lot of bullying when I was younger and sadly I let the bullying define me as a person.

As a mother I an determined that the same thing will not happen to my daughters.

So I am teaching not to let the opinions and hurtful words of others define who they are.  I am teaching them to shake it off."
